I photograph nature, pictorial scenes, and botanicals. Sometimes I am influenced by the paintings of the Impressionists and so I experiment and play with intentional camera movement, long exposures, or multiple exposures to create this romantic, painterly effect. My “Island Whimsy” series reflects this style. Other times, I want to have fun and create bright playful images. I photograph flowers and enhance these images digitally with retro Polaroid film. These images are produced on aluminum for a cheery splash-of-colour art piece suitable for any décor. I affectionately call this photographic art series “Petals2Metal”. Since 2008, I’ve been exhibiting my work in group and solo shows throughout British Columbia. My studio is the natural world; however, I have a small working studio in my home in the north end of Nanaimo, BC.
