Directions to 3516 Wiltshire Drive:

Take Oakridge Drive off of Hammond Bay to Glen Oaks Drive, 3/4 of the way up Glen Oaks Drive, you will see Wiltshire Drive on the left; studio is on lower side of loop. Follow the red balloons.

It’s great to be participating again in the Hammond Bay Studio Tour along with a number of other professional studios and their guest artists in the north end of Nanaimo. My guest artist will be an amazing Nanaimo photographer, Wilf Hatch who will also display some of his graphite drawings.

As an active painter working “en plein air” (in the fresh air), I've been busy painting in many locations around the island so there is a chance we've already chatted on some beach in Departure Bay, Neck Point, Lantzville, or other locations up and down the island. You may have come to my west coast home studio/gallery on a past tour.

This year has been a busy year. In July, I travelled to Toronto for the 50th International Open Juried Exhibition of the Society of Canadian Artists.

Broken Fences, Coming Storm, ink on paper, was also part of the Annual International Representational Show (AIRS) with the Federation of Canadian Artists Vancouver Gallery. The piece was also one of ten honorable mentions published in the May issue Artists Magazine as part of an international competition.

Many of my outdoor paintings interpret a strong appreciation of the Pacific North West environment and strive to capture visual power in the landscape. Others are philosophical pieces about our environment, the appreciation of a sunrise or sunset. This year I’ve been exploring other combinations of water mediums and substrates and painting techniques so I hope you’ll come and see my new work.
